No Stark County Release Feed
The Stark County Sheriff's Office page provides agency contacts and jail inspection reports, but it has no inmate roster, booking archive, or rolling release list. The county sitemap likewise has no hidden inmate, release, or mugshot page. That means there is no official URL to filter, no stated update time, and no county-backed rule that a released name stays visible for one day.
This absence changes the method. Call the Sheriff's jail and nonemergency line at 309-286-2541 for a current, same-day check. Ask two separate questions: whether the person is held now and, if not, when and under whose authority the person left. Staff may need a full legal name, booking number, or Stark case number to distinguish people with similar names.
Check Stark County Same-Day Releases
A reliable search moves from the physical custodian to a written record. It also keeps the jail event apart from the court outcome. Use the following order when the goal is to confirm a release today:
- Identify the actual jail. A Stark case can involve off-site custody, so do not assume the person is physically in Toulon.
- Call the Stark County Sheriff at 309-286-2541. Ask for present custody, release date and time, release authority or type, and any transfer destination.
- Search Judici with Stark County selected. Read the latest detention order, case minutes, disposition, sentence, and mittimus.
- Request the Sheriff's release-log entry when written proof is needed. Ask for a native electronic copy and a narrow date range.
- Contact the receiving agency or off-site holding jail if the record says transfer, commitment, or another hold.
VINE can provide a source-fed custody alert when the agency participates, but Stark participation has not been independently established. A no-match is ambiguous. For a named-person search across local, state, and federal systems, use the fuller path on the Stark County released inmates home page.
Stark County Release Log Fields
Because no public 24-hour table exists, these are fields to request from the underlying booking and release record. They are not claims about a hidden web feed. The official jail inspection framework calls for the date, time, and authority for release, as well as a property-return trail.
| Requested field | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Full name and booking number | Which jail episode the entry describes. |
| Admission and release timestamps | The start and end of that Stark custody episode. |
| Holding and arresting agencies | Which offices controlled the person and record. |
| Release authority and type | Whether the event followed a court order, sentence completion, dismissal, or another basis. |
| Charges and active holds | Why another authority may still hold the person. |
| Destination or transfer agency | Whether leaving Stark custody meant community release or continued custody elsewhere. |
| Property receipt | What property or maintenance medicine was returned and acknowledged. |
A transfer entry only proves departure from Stark custody. Pair it with the receiving agency's record before describing the person as released to the community.
Request Stark County Release Records
For a durable answer, submit a focused Illinois Freedom of Information Act request. The county's optional form goes to the Stark County Clerk FOIA Officer, 130 W. Main Street, PO Box 97, Toulon, IL 61483. The phone is 309-286-5911, fax is 309-286-4039, and email is clerk@starkco.illinois.gov. Copy or consult the Sheriff at 130 W. Jefferson Street, PO Box 610, Toulon, because that office maintains the jail record.
Ask for the booking and release entry for a named person and date range. Specify the booking number, admission time, release time, authority, release reason, and destination or transfer agency. Request native electronic records where feasible. If material is withheld, ask for the exact exemption and all reasonably segregable, nonexempt portions. If the record no longer exists, request the retention schedule and disposition authority.
Illinois FOIA generally gives a public body five business days to comply with or deny a noncommercial request, subject to a statutory extension. That is a records timeline, not a same-day custody service. Call first when the current status matters, then preserve the result in writing.
Read Stark County Release Types
“Released” must be tied to one agency. Bond or pretrial release ends jail detention while the case continues. Time served or sentence complete means the jail term ended, but another hold may remain. A commitment to the Illinois Department of Corrections ends the county-jail episode and starts state custody. A transfer to another county, federal authority, or immigration authority is also continued custody.
Probation and conditional discharge are court-ordered community sentences. Mandatory supervised release, often called MSR, follows an Illinois prison term and remains state supervision. Full discharge is different again because the agency's custody and supervision term has ended. Exact labels matter. The court docket can explain the legal order, while the jail log supplies the physical processing time.
Note: IDOC's search applies only when state corrections took custody or supervision; it does not index every Stark County Jail release.
Stark Releases From Off-Site Custody
Stark County has a distinctive custody wrinkle. Tenth Circuit Administrative Order 2024-09 recognizes an off-site jail in Peoria County and permits remote detention and conditions hearings when needed. The Stark docket can therefore contain the judge's release ruling while another jail controls the actual release process.
Confirm the physical jail from the case record or Sheriff. Then ask that facility whether processing is complete and whether another hold exists. A court order can precede departure by hours, and a new hold can prevent community release. Record the office, time of the call, and the exact question asked. When certainty matters, obtain both the Stark order and the physical custodian's release entry.
